Devlog #8: A Sweet Send-off
Spooktober is filled with so many wonderful entries you could find something to talk about for months to come, so I didn’t expect much when The Spooktober Awards Show rolled around. Awayuki Tasogare was nominated for the Best Light.vn Submission category and landed a Honorable Mention! It’s surreal seeing my game’s title among those I have played and enjoyed myself. Thank you for everyone who had given it a chance.
Honestly, my initial reaction was feeling immensely relieved. If the game made it to the nomination, that means it’s pretty much crash-free and it puts my fears to rest. I can sleep now.
Yeah, about that. I’m still working to meet the Dying Year’s deadline, but the first two weeks of November would be slow. I did a lot of things in October, most of them only tangentially related to the game, but they were useful in getting me to grok the capabilities of the engine in a more comfortable pace. I’m still hoping to finish translating Light.vn’s templates this month, fingers crossed.
I still have a sneaking suspicion the game got up there just because a lot of prettier, cooler ones got disqualified by unfortunate crashes– but it doesn’t matter. I have gotten a lot of useful feedbacks from the jam, and I hope I can do them justice in the full version.
